Week 10 saw some incredible performances across the board, with several teams and individual gymnasts achieving season-high scores. Here are the highlights:
Women’s Top Scores
LSU earned the highest score in the country so far this season with a 198.575 in their victory over Georgia.
Despite some scoring controversies, the Tigers delivered a near-flawless performance in front of a sell-out crowd of 13,476.
LSU head coach Jay Clark even acknowledged that some scores might have been inflated, but he also praised Georgia’s Ja’ Free Scott for her exceptional beam routine.
Other notable 198s from Week 10 include:

Standout Performances
Jade Carey’s Dominance
Three-time Olympic medalist Jade Carey continues to dominate the women’s national rankings. She is currently ranked No. 1 in the all-around and on beam, eighth on bars and floor, and 10th on vault.
In Week 10, Carey posted the highest all-around score in the country so far this season with a 39.825 for Oregon State at San Jose State.
Her impressive marks included:
- 9.975 on vault and beam
- 9.950 on floor
- 9.925 on bars
Carey has swept all individual titles in the nine meets she’s competed in this season, remaining undefeated in the all-around.
Khoi Young’s Return
Khoi Young made a triumphant return to competition for the first time since the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials, scoring a 14.900 on pommel horse at the Stanford International Collegiate.
Young has been recovering from a leg injury that required surgery after serving as an alternate for the Olympic team.
His performance is a promising sign for Stanford as they aim for an unprecedented sixth-consecutive NCAA title.
Chae Campbell’s Tribute
UCLA graduate student Chae Campbell paid tribute to her freshman year floor routine during the Bruins’ senior night win over Stanford.
Performing in front of a record-setting crowd of 12,918 at Pauley Pavilion, Campbell’s routine featured the iconic move dubbed “The Chae,” which has become a fan favorite.
This performance was especially meaningful as Campbell never got to perform this routine in front of a crowd in 2021 due to COVID restrictions.
Perfect 10s of Week 10
Two perfect 10s were awarded in Week 10, both on Friday night:
- LSU’s Aleah Finnegan earned a 10 in her final beam routine at the PMAC, marking her eighth overall perfect score.
- Kentucky’s Creslyn Brose received her first-ever 10 with a perfect mark on floor.
Team Highlights and Rankings
Penn State’s Hot Streak
The Penn State men’s team is on a roll, following up their win over No. 2 Stanford with a victory over No. 5 Illinois.
The Nittany Lions have consistently scored 320+ in their last three outings, including a season-high 323.850 in a narrow loss to Ohio State.
With a mature team and a successful 4 up, 4 count format, Penn State has risen to No. 5 in the country and is looking strong heading into the postseason.
SEC Championships Bubble Watch
With one week left in the regular season, the SEC gymnastics standings by NQS are crucial.
The team ranked No. 9 after Week 11 will be eliminated from the SEC Gymnastics Championships on March 22.
Arkansas, currently in the precarious No. 8 spot, helped their chances with a season-high 197.725 on the road at Kentucky.
Auburn, dealing with multiple key injuries, is also in a tight spot and will need strong performances to secure their place.
Nissen-Emery Award Finalists
The 2025 Nissen-Emery Award finalists were announced, recognizing the year’s outstanding senior collegiate gymnast. The finalists are:
- Taylor Burkhart – Stanford
- Taylor Christopulos – Nebraska
- Emre Dodanli – Oklahoma
- Patrick Hoopes – Air Force
- Josh Karnes – Penn State
- Kameron Nelson – Ohio State
- Khoi Young – Stanford
Flub of the Week
The ACC Digital Network faced criticism over the weekend for a miscaptioned video of NC State’s Ashley Knight. The video showed Knight’s front pike half on vault. It was incorrectly labeled as a dismount and claimed she stuck the landing, despite a visible step.
This mistake highlights the ongoing issue of gymnastics not receiving the same respect and attention to detail as mainstream sports like football or basketball.
As we move closer to the postseason, the excitement in college gymnastics continues to build. Stay tuned for more updates and coverage as teams and individual gymnasts strive for excellence. They aim to secure their spots in the championships.
