The Oklahoma women’s gymnastics team has kicked off their 2025 season with an impressive performance. They secured a victory at the American Gold Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Classic in Nashville. The Sooners are now 3-0 for the season.
At the meet, the Sooners scored a 197.550 and outpaced rivals Auburn, BYU, and Nebraska. With standout performances from both seasoned athletes and promising freshmen, the team looks poised for a successful season ahead.
Dominant Performance in Nashville
The Sooners demonstrated their prowess early in the meet with a strong start on vault, earning a collective score of 49.450. Freshman Lily Pederson made an impactful debut, scoring a 9.925 with her Yurchenko 1.5. Keira Wells led the event with a near-perfect 9.95, setting the tone for the rest of the competition. The team’s exceptional performance continued through the uneven bars, beam, and floor exercises, securing event titles in all four categories.
All-Around Excellence
Five Sooners competed in the all-around, with Faith Torrez claiming the title with a score of 39.625. Freshman Lily Pederson followed closely with a 39.550, showcasing her potential as a future star. Audrey Davis, Addison Fatta, and Jordan Bowers also delivered strong performances, contributing to the team’s overall success.

Leading off with a 49.450 on vault, the Sooners set the stage for their victory. Key performances included:

With their first victory of the season under their belt, the Oklahoma women’s gymnastics team is set for a top-five showdown against No. 2 LSU, No. 4 California, and No. 5 Utah at the Sprouts Farmer’s Market Collegiate Quad. This highly anticipated meet will take place on January 11 at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City and will be broadcast live on ABC.
