The No. 1 Oklahoma women’s gymnastics team is set to make a grand return to the floor this Saturday afternoon. This will be one of the most thrilling matchups of the 2025 season. The second annual Sprout’s Farmer’s Market Collegiate Quad, hosted by ESPN Events, will be broadcast live on ABC at 3 p.m. CT.
This highly anticipated meet features No. 1 Oklahoma taking on No. 2 LSU, No. 4 Utah, and No. 6 California. All of these teams were preseason top five teams as voted on by coaches. The event will take place on the podium inside the Paycom Center in downtown Oklahoma City, with John Roethlisberger and Aly Raisman on the call, and Taylor Davis on the sidelines.
Looking Back at Oklahoma’s Stellar Start
The Sooners kicked off their season with a bang, securing their first victory at the American Gold Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Classic in Nashville on January 4. The team posted an impressive 197.550, besting Auburn (195.950), BYU (194.625), and Nebraska (194.475).
Five Sooners competed in the all-around, with Faith Torrez clinching the title with a 39.625. Freshman Lily Pederson followed closely with a 39.550, while Audrey Davis, Addison Fatta, and Jordan Bowers also delivered strong performances.

Keira Wells was honored by the SEC as the Specialist of the Week, thanks to her stellar performance on the vault. She scored a career-high 9.95. This score tied for the highest in the nation for the event and helped the Sooners achieve a team score of 49.450, the highest in the country.
All-Around Excellence
On January 4, five Sooners competed in the all-around: Jordan Bowers, Audrey Davis, Addison Fatta, Lily Pederson, and Faith Torrez. Torrez led the way with a 39.625, followed by Pederson with a 39.550, marking the second-highest debut all-around score for a freshman in OU history.
Pederson’s performance is only behind Maggie Nichols and Olivia Trautman, who each scored a 39.725 in their debut all-around appearances.
Team Rankings and Scores
After posting the highest score in the nation on opening weekend with a 197.550, Oklahoma remains the No. 1 team in the nation. The Sooners are one of only two schools to achieve a 197-plus score in the first week of competition.
LSU follows at No. 2 with a 197.300, Michigan State at No. 3 with 196.850, Utah at No. 4 with 196.775, and Missouri at No. 5 with 196.700.
Oklahoma also holds the No. 1 ranking in two events:
- Vault: 49.450
- Uneven Bars: 49.550
Additionally, the Sooners are ranked No. 2 on beam with a 49.400 and fifth on floor with a 49.150. Their 49.550 on bars was the highest of any individual event on the weekend and one of just two 49.500-plus event scores.
Freshman Impact
A trio of freshmen made their collegiate debuts in the season opener, contributing significantly to the team’s success.
Addison Fatta and Lily Pederson competed in the all-around, while Elle Mueller participated on the uneven bars and performed an exhibition floor routine. Kelsey Slade also showcased her skills with an exhibition routine on bars, highlighting the depth and potential of the freshman class.
Scouting the Competition
As the Sooners prepare for the Sprout’s Farmer’s Market Collegiate Quad, let’s take a closer look at their formidable opponents:
- No. 2 LSU: The Tigers come in at No. 2 after posting a 197.300 in a dual-meet victory over Iowa State. Aleah Finnegan led the way with a 39.725 in the all-around, earning SEC Gymnast of the Week honors. Kailin Chio was named the SEC Freshman of the Week after scoring 39.575 in the all-around. LSU leads the nation on floor with a 49.500 mark.
- No. 4 Utah: Utah posted a 196.775 in its opening meet against Utah State, securing the No. 4 spot. The Red Rocks are the top-ranked beam team, scoring 49.475 on the apparatus. Makenna Smith led the team with a 39.500 in the all-around.
- No. 6 California: California enters the meet ranked No. 6 after scoring 196.275 in the season opener. The Golden Bears picked up wins over UCLA and Oregon State, led by Mya Lauzon’s 39.525 in the all-around.

After the Sprout’s Farmer’s Market Collegiate Quad, the Sooners will return home to the Lloyd Noble Center for their SEC opener on Friday, January 17.
