The Oklahoma women’s gymnastics team kicked off their season with a commanding victory at the American Gold Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Classic in Nashville. The Sooners showcased their dominance by posting an impressive score of 197.550, defeating Auburn, BYU, and Nebraska. This win sets a promising tone for the season as the Sooners move to 3-0.
Dominant Performance in Nashville
Oklahoma’s women’s gymnastics team started their season with a bang, securing a victory at the American Gold Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Classic. The Sooners achieved a stellar score of 197.550, outpacing Auburn’s 195.950, BYU’s 194.625, and Nebraska’s 194.475. This victory marks their third win of the season, maintaining an undefeated record.
All-Around Excellence
Five Sooners competed in the all-around competition, demonstrating their versatility and skill across all events. Faith Torrez led the charge, claiming the all-around title with a score of 39.625. Freshman Lily Pederson made an impressive debut, securing second place with a score of 39.550. Other notable performances included Audrey Davis with 39.425, Addison Fatta with 39.325, and Jordan Bowers with 39.275.

Strong Start on Vault
Oklahoma began the meet with a powerful performance on vault, earning a team score of 49.450. Freshman Lily Pederson set the tone with a stellar 9.925 in her collegiate debut. Addison Fatta contributed a solid 9.80, followed by another 9.925 from Faith Torrez. Keira Wells led the vault lineup with a near-perfect 9.95, while Jordan Bowers and Audrey Davis added scores of 9.75 and 9.85 respectively.
Spectacular Uneven Bars Routine
The Sooners continued their momentum on the uneven bars, achieving a team score of 49.550. Lily Pederson started strong with a 9.875, followed by Addison Fatta with a 9.825. Faith Torrez and Elle Mueller both scored 9.90 in their routines. Audrey Davis anchored with a stunning 9.95, and Jordan Bowers closed the rotation with a 9.925.
Beam Brilliance
On the beam, Oklahoma extended their lead with a team score of 49.400. Audrey Davis led off with a score of 9.750, followed by Keira Wells with a 9.80. Addison Fatta delivered a strong performance with a 9.90, and Jordan Bowers added a 9.825. Lily Pederson showed her prowess with a 9.95, and Faith Torrez capped off the rotation with a poised 9.925.
Closing Strong on Floor
The Sooners sealed their victory with a solid performance on floor, earning a team score of 49.150. Audrey Davis started with an energetic routine, scoring 9.875. Dani Sievers made a triumphant return to the lineup with a 9.8. Addison Fatta and Lily Pederson both scored 9.8, while Jordan Bowers added a 9.775. Faith Torrez anchored the rotation with a high-flying 9.875.
Looking Ahead
Next up for the Sooners is a highly anticipated meet against top-ranked teams. They will face No. 2 LSU, No. 4 California, and No. 5 Utah at the Sprouts Farmer’s Market Collegiate Quad.
This meet will take place at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City and will be broadcast live on ABC on Saturday, Jan. 11, at 2:45 p.m.
