The Oklahoma women’s gymnastics team kicked off their 2025 season with a bang. They secured a decisive victory at the American Gold Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Classic in Nashville. The Sooners posted a remarkable score of 197.550, triumphing over Auburn, BYU, and Nebraska. This victory marks a strong start for the Sooners, who now hold a 3-0 record for the season. The meet saw standout performances from several team members, including Faith Torrez, who claimed the all-around title, and freshman Lily Pederson, who made an impressive collegiate debut.
Dominant Performance in Nashville

Vault
OU started the meet with a strong showing on vault, earning a cumulative score of 49.450. The lineup was led by Keira Wells, whose gorgeous 1.5 earned her a 9.95 and the event title. Faith Torrez and Lily Pederson also made significant contributions with scores of 9.925 each. The Sooners’ consistency and precision on vault set the tone for the rest of the meet.

Faith Torrez was a key player in the Sooners’ success, claiming the all-around title and delivering strong performances across all events. Her consistency and skill were evident as she scored 9.925 on vault, 9.90 on bars, 9.925 on beam, and 9.875 on floor.
Lily Pederson
Freshman Lily Pederson made an impressive collegiate debut, finishing second in the all-around with a score of 39.550. She secured the beam title with a 9.95 and contributed strong scores on vault (9.925), bars (9.875), and floor (9.8).
Audrey Davis
Audrey Davis showcased her talent on the uneven bars, earning a 9.95 and sharing the floor title with Torrez. Her all-around score of 39.425 highlighted her versatility and consistency.
Looking Ahead
With their first victory of the season under their belt, the Sooners are set to face a challenging lineup in their next meet. They will compete against top-ranked teams, including No. 2 LSU, No. 4 California, and No. 5 Utah, at the Sprouts Farmer’s Market Collegiate Quad.
The meet will take place at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City and will be broadcast live on ABC on Saturday, Jan. 11, at 2:45 p.m.
