The No. 1 Oklahoma women’s gymnastics team is gearing up for one of the most anticipated matchups of the 2025 season. The second annual Sprout’s Farmer’s Market Collegiate Quad, hosted by ESPN Events, will see the Sooners take on No. 2 LSU, No. 4 Utah, and No. 6 California.
This high-stakes competition will be broadcast live on ABC at 3 p.m. CT on Saturday, Jan. 11. Set inside the Paycom Center in downtown Oklahoma City, this event promises to showcase some of the finest talent in collegiate gymnastics.
With John Roethlisberger and Aly Raisman on the call and Taylor Davis on the sidelines, fans can expect an electrifying atmosphere.
Oklahoma’s Stellar Start to the Season
In their season opener at the American Gold Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Classic in Nashville, the Sooners claimed their first victory with a score of 197.550. This impressive performance saw them triumph over Auburn, BYU, and Nebraska, moving to a 3-0 record.
Five Sooners competed in the all-around, with Faith Torrez leading the pack with a score of 39.625.
Freshman Lily Pederson followed closely with a 39.550, marking the second-highest debut all-around score for a freshman in OU history.

Keira Wells Honored by SEC
Sophomore Keira Wells earned the program’s first SEC honor, being named the SEC Specialist of the Week. Wells posted a career-high 9.95 on her Yurchenko 1.5, tying for the highest score in the nation on the event.
Her performance helped the team achieve a 49.450 on vault, the highest score in the country.
All-Around Excellence
When the Sooners took the floor on Jan. 4, five athletes competed in the all-around: Jordan Bowers, Audrey Davis, Addison Fatta, Lily Pederson, and Faith Torrez.
Torrez led with a 39.625, followed by Pederson’s 39.550. This score is the second-highest debut all-around score for a freshman in OU history, behind only Maggie Nichols and Olivia Trautman.
Oklahoma’s National Rankings
After posting the highest score in the nation on opening weekend with a 197.550, Oklahoma remains the No. 1 team in the nation. The Sooners were one of just two schools to post a 197-plus score in the first week of competition.
They are also ranked No. 1 on vault and bars, No. 2 on beam, and fifth on floor.
Freshman Impact
A trio of freshmen made their collegiate debuts in the season opener, contributing significantly to the team’s success.
Addison Fatta and Lily Pederson each competed in the all-around, while Elle Mueller competed on the uneven bars.
Mueller also performed an exhibition floor routine, and Kelsey Slade showcased an exhibition routine on bars.
Scouting the Opposition
The upcoming meet features some of the top teams in the nation:
- No. 2 LSU: The Tigers posted a 197.300 in a dual-meet victory over Iowa State. Aleah Finnegan led with a 39.725 in the all-around, earning SEC Gymnast of the Week honors. Kailin Chio was named SEC Freshman of the Week with a 39.575 in the all-around.
- No. 4 Utah: The Red Rocks scored a 196.775 in their opening meet against Utah State. They are ranked No. 1 on beam with a 49.475, led by Makenna Smith’s 39.500 in the all-around.
- No. 6 California: The Golden Bears earned a 196.275 in their season opener, picking up wins over UCLA and Oregon State. Mya Lauzon led with a 39.525 in the all-around.
Looking Ahead
Following the Sprout’s Collegiate Quad, the Sooners will return to the Lloyd Noble Center for their SEC opener on Friday, Jan. 17. They will host Missouri at 7:15 p.m. CT, with the meet broadcast on SEC Network.
