The Southeast Missouri Gymnastics team, also known as the Gymhawks, is set for an exciting weekend of competition. They will hit the road for two major meets. The team will first compete in the Texas Woman’s Tri-Meet on Friday, January 17, followed by the Centenary Tri-Meet on Monday, January 20.
These back-to-back meets will be crucial for the Gymhawks as they aim to build on their recent performances. With head coach Ashley Lawson leading the way in her seventh season, the Gymhawks are poised for a thrilling weekend of gymnastics action.
Meet Information and Schedule
The Gymhawks will kick off their weekend at the Texas Woman’s Tri-Meet in Denton, Texas, on Friday, January 17, at 7:00 p.m. CT. The competition will take place at the Kitty McGee Arena. Following this, the team will travel to Shreveport, Louisiana, for the Centenary Tri-Meet on Monday, January 20, with the competition starting at 1:00 p.m. CT at the Gold Dome.
These meets will feature teams from the Midwest Independent Conference, including Texas Woman’s University, Centenary, and West Chester.
Coaching Staff
The Gymhawks are under the expert guidance of head coach Ashley Lawson, who is in her seventh season with the team. Her experience and leadership have been instrumental in shaping the team’s success. The other participating teams are coached by Lisa Bowerman (Texas Woman’s, 13th season), Meg Crowley (Centenary, third season), and Barbara Cordova (West Chester, 17th season).
Recent Performances
In their most recent outing, the Gymhawks competed at the Ball State Quad-Meet on January 12. There, they finished in third place with an overall score of 189.750. This performance saw them finishing ahead of Wisconsin Eau-Claire, who scored 181.500.
Junior Taylor Ingle and freshman Joselene Hernandez were standout performers, competing in the all-around category. Ingle tied for third overall with a score of 38.700, while Hernandez finished sixth with a 35.975.

Beam Performance
The Gymhawks started strong on the beam, with Taylor Ingle and Ailey Kuehn both recording scores of 9.675. Newcomer Jaidan Kossuth also made a significant contribution with a score of 9.650, helping the team achieve a running score of 47.375 in the first rotation.
Floor Performance
The team showed improvement in the floor rotation, scoring 48.375. Taylor Ingle led the way with a 9.750, followed by Madison Greene and Joselene Hernandez, who both scored 9.700.
Sydney Crouch opened the rotation with a 9.575, while Kailyn Hamilton and Leah Parton contributed scores of 9.625 and 9.600, respectively, bringing the team’s running score to 95.750 midway through the competition.
Vault Performance
On the vault, Ailey Kuehn delivered a standout performance with a season-high score of 9.800. Lindsay Ockler anchored the lineup with a score of 9.725, while Taylor Ingle and Janelle Lopez both scored 9.675.
The team finished the vault rotation with a score of 48.450, bringing their running score to 144.200.
Bars Performance
The final rotation saw the Gymhawks on the bars, where Taylor Ingle led the team with a score of 9.600. Kailyn Hamilton and Janelle Lopez were the only other team members to score above 9.000, with scores of 9.425 and 9.350, respectively. The team finished the bars rotation with a score of 45.550.
Individual Highlights
Several Gymhawks have made notable contributions this season. Taylor Ingle has been a consistent performer in the all-around category, improving her score from 37.925 in the first meet to 38.700 in the second.
Ailey Kuehn had a career day at the Ball State Quad-Meet, achieving a career-high score of 9.800 on the vault. Newcomer Jaidan Kossuth also showed promise, improving her beam score from 8.925 in the first meet to 9.650 in the second.
Floor Specialist
Senior Madison Greene has been a key performer on the floor, improving her score from 9.550 in the first meet to 9.700 in the second. Her consistency and experience have been valuable assets to the team.
