The Oklahoma women’s gymnastics team, ranked No. 1 in the nation, is set to compete in the highly anticipated Sprout’s Farmer’s Market Collegiate Quad in Oklahoma City. This event will be broadcast live on ABC. It features top-tier teams including No. 2 LSU, No. 4 Utah, and No. 6 California.

The Sooners are coming off a victorious season opener at the American Gold Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Classic in Nashville. There, they scored an impressive 197.550. This performance solidified their No. 1 ranking and set the stage for their upcoming meet.

Freshman Lily Pederson made an impressive debut, earning a 39.550 and placing second. Other notable performances included Audrey Davis with a 39.425, Addison Fatta with a 39.325, and Jordan Bowers with a 39.275.

Sophomore Keira Wells received the SEC Specialist of the Week honor after her standout performance in the season opener. All-Around Excellence

The Sooners showcased their depth by having five athletes compete in the all-around. Torrez led the group with a 39.625, followed closely by Pederson’s 39.550.

Pederson’s score is the second-highest debut all-around score for a freshman in OU history, trailing only Maggie Nichols and Olivia Trautman.

LSU comes into the meet ranked No. 2 after posting a 197.300 in their season opener against Iowa State. Aleah Finnegan led the Tigers with a 39.725 in the all-around, earning SEC Gymnast of the Week honors. Freshman Kailin Chio also impressed with a 39.575, earning SEC Freshman of the Week. LSU leads the nation on floor with a 49.500 mark.

No. 4 Utah

Utah is ranked No. 4 after scoring a 196.775 in their opening meet against Utah State. The Red Rocks are the top-ranked team on beam, with a score of 49.475. Makenna Smith led Utah with a 39.500 in the all-around.

No. 6 California

California enters the meet ranked No. 6 after scoring a 196.275 in their season opener. The Golden Bears secured victories over UCLA and Oregon State, with Mya Lauzon leading the team with a 39.525 in the all-around.

Following the Collegiate Quad, the Sooners will return home to Lloyd Noble Center for their SEC opener against Missouri on Friday, Jan. 17, at 7:15 p.m. CT. The meet will be broadcast on SEC Network.
