On a memorable Senior Day inside Blake Arena, the Springfield College women’s gymnastics team delivered a season-high performance against Rhode Island College and Southern Connecticut State University. Despite finishing third with a commendable score of 187.100, the Pride showcased their talent and determination in front of a supportive home crowd.
Rhode Island College emerged victorious with a score of 192.725, while Southern Connecticut secured second place with 190.600. The day was highlighted by impressive individual performances, particularly from Sage Kaplan, who excelled in the all-around competition.
Senior Day Highlights
The atmosphere inside Blake Arena was electric as the Springfield College women’s gymnastics team celebrated their seniors. The Pride’s athletes demonstrated remarkable skill and composure throughout the meet, culminating in their highest team score of the season.
Sage Kaplan Shines in All-Around
Sage Kaplan (Auburn, Mass.) delivered a standout performance, finishing third in the all-around competition with a score of 36.300. Kaplan’s scores included:

Her 9.775 on the beam was particularly impressive, securing her second place in the event, just behind Emma Tucker of Rhode Island College, who scored 9.800.
Event-by-Event Breakdown
Vault
The Pride began the competition on the vault, where Stacy Taylor (Biddeford, Maine) led the team with a score of 9.550, earning her ninth place. Both Reagan Charlton (Bentonville, Ark.) and Kaplan tied for 15th with scores of 9.475.
Uneven Bars
In the next rotation, Springfield moved to the uneven bars. Sarah Brownstein (Salt Lake City, Utah) led the way with a score of 9.250, placing seventh. Ayako Maeda (Tokyo, Japan) followed closely with a score of 9.150, earning tenth place.
Beam
Kaplan and Charlton once again led Springfield on the beam with scores of 9.775 and 9.675, respectively. Scarlette Ayakawa (Coppell, Texas) also delivered a strong performance, scoring 9.600.
Floor Exercise
Springfield’s best overall team score came on the floor exercise, where they achieved a combined mark of 48.075. Elsie Gardiner (Tucson, Ariz.) and Julia Reer (Cedar Grove, N.J.) tied for eighth with scores of 9.675, while Maya Belog (Sturbridge, Mass.) finished tenth with a score of 9.625.
