The Oklahoma women’s gymnastics team is off to a great start in 2025, showcasing their prowess and solidifying their No. 1 ranking. This weekend, the Sooners are set to compete in one of the most anticipated matches of the season, the second annual Sprout’s Farmer’s Market Collegiate Quad.
This high-stakes meet will feature top-tier teams, including No. 2 LSU, No. 4 Utah, and No. 6 California, making it one of the most exciting collegiate gymnastics events of the year.
The Sooners’ Stellar Start
Oklahoma kicked off their season with an impressive victory at the American Gold Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Classic in Nashville on January 4. The Sooners scored a remarkable 197.550, defeating Auburn, BYU, and Nebraska.
This performance has set the tone for what promises to be a thrilling season.

Five Sooners competed in the all-around, with Faith Torrez leading the way, scoring a 39.625. Freshman Lily Pederson made an impressive debut with a 39.550, the second-highest debut all-around score for a freshman in OU history.

Other notable performances came from Audrey Davis (39.425), Addison Fatta (39.325), and Jordan Bowers (39.275).
Event Titles
The Sooners dominated across all events, with Keira Wells earning the vault title with a 9.95. Davis and Torrez shared the floor title with matching 9.875s, while Pederson clinched the beam title with a 9.95. Davis also secured the uneven bars title with a 9.95.
Upcoming Challenge: Sprout’s Farmer’s Market Collegiate Quad
The Sooners will face their toughest competition yet at the Sprout’s Farmer’s Market Collegiate Quad, set to take place on Saturday, January 11, at the Paycom Center in downtown Oklahoma City.
The meet will be broadcast live on ABC at 3 p.m. CT, with John Roethlisberger and Aly Raisman providing commentary and Taylor Davis reporting from the sidelines.

This event will feature four of the top teams in collegiate gymnastics:

All four teams were ranked in the preseason top five, as voted on by coaches, making this a must-watch event for gymnastics fans.
Team Rankings and Scores
Oklahoma is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation after posting the highest score in the opening weekend with a 197.550. They lead the nation on vault (49.450) and bars (49.550), are second on beam (49.400), and fifth on floor (49.150).
LSU Tigers
LSU, ranked No. 2, posted a 197.300 in their season opener against Iowa State. Aleah Finnegan led the Tigers with a 39.725 in the all-around, earning SEC Gymnast of the Week honors. Kailin Chio was named SEC Freshman of the Week with a 39.575 performance in the all-around. LSU leads the nation on floor with a 49.500 mark.
Utah Red Rocks
Utah, ranked No. 4, scored a 196.775 in their opening meet against Utah State. They are the top-ranked beam team with a 49.475. Makenna Smith led the Red Rocks with a 39.500 in the all-around.
California Golden Bears
California, ranked No. 6, scored a 196.275 in their season opener, defeating UCLA and Oregon State. Mya Lauzon led the Golden Bears with a 39.525 in the all-around.
Looking Ahead
After the Sprout’s Farmer’s Market Collegiate Quad, the Sooners will return home to the Lloyd Noble Center for their SEC opener against Missouri on Friday, January 17, at 7:15 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on SEC Network.
